The Game
CHKN is a creature building sandbox game where you take on the role of a mad creator. You must assemble a sentient creature, capable of feeling emotions just like a human. They eat, sleep, play and fight, able to become your best friend or your worst enemy. At your disposal are life blocks, living building-blocks used to create normal creatures or ridiculous monsters. Learn from your mistakes or continue your destructive path, it’s completely up to you. Join the CHKN community and be a creator or a destroyer.
CHKN is currently available as a free alpha download if you sign up on the games website. It will soon be up on Steam Greenlight and then Early Access. To get up to date information on CHKN news, sign up for the mailing list.
The World
In a universe teeming with life, your race was tragically separated from your home world, a world which you have a symbiotic relationship with. For thousands of years your race has existed out in the universe, unable to return home. Your home planet is very unique, unlike any in the universe. It is able to create it's own life in the form of life blocks. Rare and rich in that valuable resource, this very intelligent planet has learned to reject anything from invading it, leaving it simple but safe. Only its Creatures roam the land, made from the life blocks that your home world creates. Over time, another race evolved away from yours, becoming evil. Their goal became poaching these creatures that roam the planet, taking their life blocks from them.
The Story
The time has come for you to return! You receive notice that you must return and bring complexity and harmony back to your home world. Because your race is in symbiosis with the planet, it has allowed you to enter and begin creating creatures. However, since the Poachers and Loggers share similar DNA, they also find their way in, coming at certain times of the day to hunt your creatures.
Creatures
A creature is whatever you want it to be! You can make horses, chickens, snakes, dogs or giraffes, or something strange in between. They can have two legs or five, two eyes or ten. You have complete freedom to make your creature however weird or normal you want. Creatures have “empathic intelligence”, meaning they learn from how you treat it. Feed it hamburgers and it will trust you. Throw a bomb at it and it will attack you. Even after you initially create it, it won’t trust you. It may even bite you if you try to pet it. Once it trusts you however, it will protect you, attacking any other creature who goe after you. You can see your progress with your creature by the expressions in their faces.
Lifeblocks
These are what make your creatures so unique. By themselves they a valuable resource, highly sought after in the universe. Assembled together into a creature they become living things. The first block you lay will have a heart inside it which gives your creature life. Destroy that block and your creature will break apart and die. You are able to automatically pick up the pieces and put them back in your inventory. If left on the ground, a nearby creature may devour unattended life blocks.

Use these volatile fruits to scare creatures away. Watch out though, they will get mad and maul you. |

All creatures love to play and if you throw a beach ball at them, they will fetch it for you. |
What came first, the chicken or the egg?
Each player gets four eggs which automatically spawn two full creatures each if you want to create creatures fast. They are kind of strange...prepare yourself. Spawn at your own risk!
Taming/Playing
Taming is as simple as feeding your creature hamburgers until they learn to trust you. Once they do, they will let you pet and play with it by throwing a beach ball around. They will chase after it and bring it back to you.
Creature Fighting
Because your creatures love you (Hopefully. That’s up to you) they want to protect you. If your tamed creature sees another creature attacking you, it will attack that creature. They will chase and chomp on it until it explodes apart. Some creatures will even become sad that others have been killed, especially if they have been fed together and became friends. You can use exploding fruit bombs to terrorize creatures, or to show your tamed creature which ones you want it to attack.
