Farming

Farming allows you to grow food to feed your creatures, and to feed yourself.

Overview

In order to feed a creature, you will need to throw the food with the left mouse button towards the creature's front side; if the creature spots the food, it will run towards it and eat it. In order to feed yourself, simply use the right mouse button. Fruits can generally be found growing from plants and trees, with the latter needing you to take down the entire tree in order to obtain the fruit. When you obtain a food item, you may also craft seeds of that same food, which will allow you to grow those plants or trees again. To plant seeds, however, you will need to till the ground using a blunt object. From there, you can plant the seeds and wait for the new fruit to grow - though trees actually grow immediately.

Farming Tools

As mentioned, you will need a blunt object to till the ground, but only a few will work, which are mentioned below. Keep in mind that even though these objects have a durability stat, they will not degrade from tilling, so till away!

Tool	Notes
Log	Logs must be hand crafted first from raw tree parts.
Hatchet	The hatchet must be crafted through the workbench first.
Branch	Branches can be found lying around across the land.

Plants and Trees

Before farming you will need to hand craft seeds found from the plants listed below.

Raw Sources	Notes
Apple	The apple tree must be chopped down first in order to gather the apples grow from it.
Melon	Melons can simply be found growing from their plant stems throughout the land.
Squash	Squash can simply be found growing from their plant stems throughout the land.
Cactus	Cacti can be found growing throughout the land. Know that it currently provides no benefits, except for aesthetics.
Grass	Grass can be found growing throughout the land. Know that it currently provides no benefits, except for aesthetics.
Maple Tree Trunk	Maple trees can be found growing throughout the land. Currently it can only be used create logs.
Palm Tree Trunk	Palm trees can be found growing throughout the land. Know that it currently provides no benefits, except for aesthetics.

Seeds

Finally, once you have a raw food source, you can hand craft the seeds needed to grow a new plant or tree. Most will give 2 seeds, but some will only give one.

Seed Type	# of Seeds	Notes
Apple Seed	2	Apple seeds are gathered from the apples themselves. Each one will grow an entire tree.
Cactus Seed	1	Cactus seeds are gathered from the cactus blocks. Again, these are just for aesthetics.
Grass Seed	2	Grass seeds are obtain from harvesting the log pieces of feed grass. Currently, these are just for aesthetics.
Maple Tree Seed	2	Maple tree seeds are gathered from the maple tree trunk pieces. Currently, they will grow another tree, which can be harvested for logs, or more seeds.
Melon Seed	2	Melon seeds are gathered from raw melons (unbaked). These will grow more melon plants in your farm.
Palm Tree Seed	1	Palm tree seeds are gathered from the palm tree trunk pieces. Currently, they will grow another tree, which can be harvested for logs, or more seeds.
Squash Seed	2	Squash seeds are gathered from raw squash (unbaked). These will grow more squash plants in your farm.
